Continuing our series on past Feeder Series racing, today we look back to Istanbul, Turkey on August 27th 2006, to the second race of the 10th round of the GP2 Series.
Lewis Hamilton starts from the front of the grid but soon spins down to 18th place and spends the rest of the race working his way up to 2nd, after a display of overtaking that shows why he was soon to become F1 world champion.
The video below shows the highlights of this race.

This is a great video as it sums up perfectly both how talented Lewis Hamilton is and how ‘rough’ his talent is because he is still prone to mistakes.
A classic race and thanks for sharing
Stunning battle between Glock and Hamilton, two of the best racers in F1. Doesn’t get much better than that.
Fantastic piece of footage. I loved the bit where the commentator says “and Piquet has finally woken up”
